27th November

We each wrote down ideas for an animation and read them out to each other, we decided to pick Adams idea and to go with Asylum seekers/myth busting, we also made a start with our storyboard.

17th November

Angie demonstrated how to make the armatures out of zinc, we then made our own, she also told us how to use Polymorph and how to put it onto our armature.

Johns Class

On Tuesday we made a set with little plastic models and moved them a tiny bit between every picture to create a 20 second animation.

Google

Google is one of the websites that lets you change the layout of its home page, e.g. if you like to travel, you can set the home page to have a menu for bus or train times here is a picture of a personal home page on google.

Stop motion

this is where still objects appear to move, the object is moved a very small amount between each frame and when played back at normal speed looks like the object is moving.

Flip Book

this is a book with a series of pictures so that when you flick through every page quickly it looks like the pictures move to create a small animation.

Praxinoscope

This was just a better version of the zoetrope, it still had the band of pictures/photographs placed on the inner cylinder but instead of having to look through the slits, there was a mirror placed in the middle to reflect the pictures on the inside.

Zoetrope

This is a cylinder with slits cut vertically in the sides, below the slits on the inside of the cylinder is a band with a sequence of pictures/photographs, as the cylinder spins the person looks through the slits and it looks like the pictures are moving.

Magic Lantern

This was invented in 1671, the images were painted on glass plates and with an oil lamp and a lens they could be projected onto a suitable screen.

Thaumatrope

This is a type of animation, it's when you attach a disk or card with a picture on each side to a piece of string and twirl it really quick to combine the two pictures to make it look like one picture.
