report on animation!

Animation has changed a lot since it was first invented in the 19th century, the first types of animation was the thaumatrope, flipbook, rotoscoping and painting pictures onto a backdrop then moving pictures by hand in each frame to make an animation. Some old types of animation is still used in schools such as the flip book and by using cameras by taking a picture then moving the characters slightly frame by frame to make an animation, this is called stop motion. one example that still uses this technique is the simpsons. Over the years/century's animation has become a bit more technical but easier and todays way of making most animations is to use a computer, some CGI is so good that in some films it can make characters look like real life people for example the film The Polar Express has characters in it that you wouldn't believe they were only cartoon, below is one of the characters from the film.
